How Does A Thyroid Malfunction Affect A Woman’s Cycle?

I have read that the thyroid plays a big part in fertility…I don’t have any known thyroid issues but was curious to know what a woman’s cycle would look like with a thyroid issue. Are the periods regular? do you they ovulate regulary? how would a woman even know to get hers checked..is there any symptoms in the cycle that would indicate tyroid issues?

yes it does affect you cycle. i had hypertyroidism (too much of the hormone) and it usually goes in hand with your testosterone levels. it made my period not come and a lot of other issues.some people can get it removed and take medicine for it but mines thank GOD went back to normal so im fine the only thing is i don’t ovulate and my Doc jus gave me first round of clomid (starting it in june lol wish me luck…..and lots and lots of baby dust!
